As a tiny filly, this pony mare showed her character and earned her name, and it well suits her! Part of a trio of ponies surrendered to Rosemary Farm in 2014, Katniss was just six months old when she arrived, beside her mother Little Nell and her 'auntie' Shannon. Katniss was a tiny black speck of fierceness that did not want to get into the trailer, did not want to wear a halter, and generally stated that she was something to be reckoned with.
Growing up at Rosemary Farm, Katniss became the darling of herd leader Molly, and after a few years, she has developed into the leader of her own sub-herd of friends, dubbed ‘The Mockingjays’. Always looking for adventure, Katniss and her gang can often be spotted playing and grazing up on the mountain late at night or early in the morning!
