Sunset Tour (Memorial Day Weekend)

New in 2024! One of our Founder Experience Series Events!

As the light softens and the heat of the day dissipates, herds of horses head quietly up to the mountain meadows.  These are the moments that give us pause to appreciate the magical nature of the Sanctuary.

Join Rosemary Farm Founder Dawn Robyn, as she takes you on a 90-minute walking tour and shares stories of the farm and the Sanctuary residents, then watch as the herds migrate up the paths to grassy meadows in the summer evening glow.

See horses living in dynamic, free-running groups, as nature intended. Meet wild mustangs, rescued work horses, many with special needs. Be sure to tell us if you have a favorite so we can point them out and make an introduction!

Tickets are $50 per person and this event is limited to a maximum of 10 adults (21+).

Rudy & Julian's Eclipse Party!

Rudy & Julian, our dynamic duo of fun, are taking over the Sanctuary for the Big Eclipse happening April 8th, and we are looking forward it it! Rosemary Farm will experience 98% totality and we’ll be going LIVE from the Sanctuary to share the experience with YOU!!

  • Will the horses go into the barns for bed?

  • Will Rudy get taller? Will Julian learn to speak?

  • How will the Sanctuary look in daylight darkness??

We can’t wait to find out!!

Join us ONLINE for a LIVE BROADCAST from the Rosemary Farm as we celebrate and share our total eclipse experience with live ponies, live music, a giveaway, and more! Rudy and Julian and the rest of the herds will be nearby and we will all be ready. Trainer Dan McCarthy, formerly a professional jazz musician, will accompany our viewing with live guitar, and our crew will be on hand as we observe and share the horses response to this once in a lifetime (for them!) event!

Donate $25 to receive a ticket and get access to the private Eclipse Party Facebook page for the live broadcast. All donors also receive a commemorative photo after the event. This is a great way to enjoy the eclipse, especially if you aren't in the path of it!

Summer Saturday Tours!

Summer Saturday Tours!

A "unicorn activity", as there are very few non-profit equine sanctuaries in the country!

This is a hidden gem of the Catskills. These popular public tours are held every Summer Saturday at 11 am sharp, and last for about 90 minutes. Guests are invited on a guided tour of some of the areas of the Sanctuary, to view and meet some of the nearly 100 equines in residence. Your guide will share some stories about the horses and about the farm itself, a historic property. If you are already a ‘fan’ and have a favorite horse, please let your guide know, as there may be the opportunity to say hello and snap a photo together! This is a mid-level walking tour, and a great way to spend some time outdoors in the Catskills. It is hilly and does include some walking on inclines, so please be prepared. Guests who prefer a less strenuous visit may prefer to schedule a Private Tour (see here)

Please note; Covid safety guidelines remain in effect until further notice; guests are required to wear masks and keep socially distant. The tour is partly outdoors and partly in several very ‘open’ barns to allow distance while enjoying the horses. If guests have been running a fever prior to the tour, or knowlngly exposed to someone who is Covid positive, we ask you to refrain from coming to the sanctuary. The safety of our crew is critical to the safe operations of the sanctuary and care for the horses. Any guest who is concerned may choose to schedule a Private Tour! (see here)

There are no advance reservations or ticketing for the Public Tours; we do suggest a minimum $10 donation per person. As a non-profit surviving on the donations of private supporters, we appreciate your generosity! Here are some good guidelines to maximize your enjoyment;

  • Arrive by 10:45 am to complete the basic health form and release form, so the tour may begin on time

  • Parking available roadside, or in the semi-circle drive in front of the yellow barn

  • Guests gather at the Greeting Gazebo, roadside, where a Tour Assistant will be waiting

  • Masks must be worn by guests during the public tour, and social distancing is in effect

  • Wear good walking shoes (flip flops are not good walking shoes!)

  • Please feel free to bring your camera! Photos are welcome for private use only

  • No video or audio recording, please be ‘present' and enjoy the experience

  • Please leave pets at home

  • Gifts for the horses are welcome! However, there is no hand-feeding of the horses during public tours

  • Children must be supervised at all times; strollers are not conducive to this experience

  • Rosemary Farm Sanctuary is a strictly non-smoking facility. This includes chewing tobacco, vapor devices, etc

  • Tour group must remain together, or in the company of a Crew member, while on the property

  • Rosemary Farm Sanctuary reserves the right to refuse entry to any guest for any reason

  • Rosemary Farm Sanctuary supports the rights and safety of all humans, and will help to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests

  • The private home at the Sanctuary is not accessible to guests; please do not open gates to that yard, as the old rescue dog inside is not user friendly

  • The Guest House at the Sanctuary is not accessible as part of the tour, and may be occupied

  • A Guest Bathroom is available on premises, your Guide will show you where it is located!

  • Gift Shop pending!

  • Safety is of primary importance for our Guests and our Equines, following the Guide’s instructions will maximize everyone’s safety and enjoyment

Rosemary Farm Sanctuary is thrilled to renew Tours and looks forward to sharing the beauty of the horses who call this mountain ‘home’. We will see you soon!

(see here)

There are no advance reservations or ticketing for the Public Tours; we do suggest a minimum $10 donation per person. As a non-profit surviving on the donations of private supporters, we appreciate your generosity! Here are some good guidelines to maximize your enjoyment;

Summer Saturday Tours

Every Saturday from Memorial Day through Labor Day, at 11:00 am sharp, we welcome friends new and old to join us for a 90 minute walking tour of Rosemary Farm Sanctuary!

Meet your favorite horses, snap some photos, see herd groups in natural settings. This event is open to the public without charge, but donations are gratefully received to help this non-profit support the nearly 100 equines in residence! All guests will be required to wear face masks and observe social distancing. Children must be accompanied by adults. We suggest good walking shoes!
If you cannot make our Saturday group tour, you may schedule a private one, just drop us a line for details. Any questions feel free to call or write, we are so excited to see everyone again! The horses are waiting.

Please note some rules for a safe and enjoyable visit!

• Wear good shoes, bring your still camera and bring your mask!

• No pets, no video, no hand feeding the horses.

• Social distancing in place for everyone’s safety

• Roadside parking, everyone gathers at the gazebo

• Tour is about 90 minutes, primarily outdoors

No reservation required for this event, but if you prefer a private tour at a different time, please contact Rosemary Farm to schedule! We look forward to seeing you all again!
