CHANTE

“Sweet Heart Face”

Mustangs have a wide range of physical attributes, depending on the herd they are from, and the area of the country. The lovely Chante is a Gila Mustang mare, one of the oldest and rarest of bloodlines to be identified! She was welcomed to Rosemary Farm in 2018 after the large rescue efforts of the "Hallelujah Horses", involving 907 Mustangs in need (read more here). Chante has unusual markings and is fading from a deep brown to some grey.

Unlike many Mustangs, Chante and Nizhoni, the filly she arrived with, were bottle fed as babies, so they are quite tame and comfortable with humans. Both young mares are happy members of a larger group of American Mustangs who have found their way to The Sanctuary, and Chante runs as part of the main herd.

Chante’s early life was anything but normal for a rare Gila Mustang.  Her greatest need is  for a sponsor – someone willing to appreciate her uniqueness and take joy in knowing that she is living her best life these days.  Sponsor or Staydopt Chante today!

Chante is:

• a dark brown-grey Gila Mustang mare
• welcomed to The Sanctuary in June 2018, part of the ‘Hallelujah Horses’ rescue effort
• a member of Molly & Finn’s Herd
• a permanent herd member, seeking Sponsorship or Staydoption™
• fun fact; when she was young, Chante had the prettiest heart shape, right in the middle of her forehead!
