SABA

“Hopeful”

A registered purebred Egyptian Arabian, Saba arrived at Rosemary Farm with a colt by her side and another on the way. She and her young son Kadir were the 3rd and 4th equines the Sanctuary welcomed from a 38-horse SPCA case in Spring/Summer 2021. Initially taken in by a private owner for quarantine and early handling, it was determined their ongoing needs would be better served by Rosemary Farm, so they joined their former herd mates Night and Tudor at the Sanctuary.

We do not breed and only see pregnant mares when they are rescued or surrendered in foal, which inherently means they arrive with lack of prenatal care, lack of training, lack of history, and stress. Saba had all of these issues and sadly lost her unborn foal a few months later.

Today she has recovered, and has blossomed, and will get to spend the coming years raising young Kadir to adulthood with the herd. The pair have been reunited with the other Arabians from their old herd and run the hill in Stardust Meadows like the wind.

Sponsor Saba today – and may your heart be filled with joy knowing she living her best life in Stardust Meadows!

Saba is:

• a chestnut registered Arabian mare, original name ‘Sister Hadith Saba’
• welcomed to The Sanctuary in July 2021
• a member of Baywatch
• mother of Kadir
• in transition *
• fun fact; when Saba and Kadir were moved from their private quarters to one of the main barns, with plans to slowly integrate them into the herd, they decided they had other plans and jumped a 4-rail fence overnight to get back to their family, clearing 3 rails and breaking the top rail in half!

* Any equine still under evaluation following arrival, in training, or changing in some way, is in transition. Please feel free to send an email to inquire about their status and future possibilities.
