Summer Tours

Bring the family to meet the horses — and some very friendly mules — at Rosemary Farm Sanctuary! This family-friendly 90-minute walking tour features equines of various breeds, ages and backgrounds. Each one has their own unique story and each one is protected for life on the beautiful mountain meadows of the Sanctuary. Make a new friend, take some photos, and see the herd groups in natural settings.

Tours are limited to 15 attendees to ensure everyone gets dedicated time to meet the herds up close and personal. Please wear closed-toe walking shoes and arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Tours start promptly and late arrivals may not be able to join in.

After the tour ends, guests are invited to browse our gift shop. Children and teens under 18 must be accompanied by adults.

Private Friends & Family Tours

Can’t make one of the scheduled Saturday dates, or just prefer a small group visit? Book a Private Friends & Family Tour!

Enjoy a 90-minute visit with the equines of Rosemary Farm with the flexibility to customize your experience, as we adapt the tour to your tempo and interests! On a private tour, your Friends & Family have the option for additional interaction and focus in what you see. A private tour may also be a good option for seniors or limited mobility friends who may prefer to spend time in just one barn, enjoying a group of horses with less walking. Please share any special requests or needs!

Private Friends & Family Tours may be scheduled for a small group of up to 8 people and must be arranged and paid for in advance, in order to reserve a Tour Guide and insure the Sanctuary is accessible (i.e. other tours, farm events, or vet days may conflict with your requested tour time).

Founder’s Sunset Tour

As the light softens and the heat of the day dissipates, herds of horses head quietly up to the mountain meadows.  These are the moments that give us pause to appreciate the magical nature of the Sanctuary.  Join Rosemary Farm Founder Dawn Robyn, on a sunset saunter where you’ll hear stories of the farm and meet the Sanctuary residents. Watch as the herds migrate up the paths to grassy meadows in the summer evening glow.

Founder’s Features Tour

Get the exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective of equine sanctuary life featuring various equines selected by our Founder, Dawn Robyn.  You may find yourself under the apple trees visiting with Honey Pie, having some quality time along the path with Junebug, or sharing treats with Ephy, Patrick, and Mademoiselle Coco!  Do you sponsor a Sanctuary resident? Get filled in on all their adventures.  Bring your camera and your questions!

Founder’s Ride-Along Tour

It’s time to go into the herds!  Begin your Sanctuary visit on a walkabout with Rosemary Farm Founder Dawn Robyn, making new equine friends along the way. Then hop in the UTV to venture into the fields and up the mountain for a ride along to visit the herds as they spend their time roaming the Sanctuary.  Bring your camera and allow yourself to just “be” with the horses in their world.

Are you an organization, club, department, or larger group of friends wanting to visit Rosemary Farm together?

Rosemary Farm can accommodate groups of up to 8 to 15 people for a private 90-minute walking tour of the Sanctuary.

Group tours are $350 paid in advance and must be arranged and paid for in advance to ensure a Tour Guide is available and there is no conflict with other Sanctuary operations.

A little over 3 hours from NYC, a little over an hour from Albany, Rosemary Farm is in the middle of the beautiful Catskill Mountains. Whether taking a day trip or enjoying a long weekend, come explore the area and plan a visit to meet the horses when you do! There are loads of B&B’s, motels & hotels in the area, as well as our very own Guest House!
