RUDY
Rudy is Staydopted and supported for life by the Cynsie Kraines Family, who have been his dedicated sponsors since 2021.
“The Man, The Myth, The Legend”
They say that good things come in small packages, and that statement holds true with the mini-mule, Rudy. What is a mini-mule? It's the resultant child of a date between a mini-horse and a mini-donkey, neither of which is found in the wild, making a mini-mule even more of a curiosity.
Rudy was welcomed to Rosemary Farm late 2017 as a saucy, intact young male, and needed 'brain surgery' before he could join mixed company. It was the hope of the staff that Rudy would become the companion to the special young donkey Nemo, and that worked very successfully. Rudy was one year older and just a bit wicked, and was able to help Nemo learn to play and be 'a little kid', which was wonderful for both of them. Nemo and Rudy got to welcome another long-ear friend, a young donkey named Vincent Van Burro, and the trio was really cute together, happy and at home. Vincent has been adopted and Rudy had quite an adventure before settling into his rightful space at Rosemary Farm Sanctuary (read about Rudy's Big Adventure).
Rudy, being part horse and part donkey, identifies with his 'horse' heritage, and is brave, funny, friendly and adventurous. He is friends with everyone, especially the larger horses, despite being one of the smallest equines at Rosemary Farm, and is always ready to engage in games of chase or tackle with other geldings his age. His energy is infectious, he is always starting something and has everyone in smiles and laughter. As a young adult, Rudy is enjoying his special relationship with everyone at The Sanctuary. It is hoped that Rudy will continue to train and mature and be able to do some therapy work, visiting those who cannot visit the farm. Rudy is Staydopted, so he has lifetime support to remain at Rosemary Farm Sanctuary. His future is as big as Rudy is small!
