CLOVER

“Our Real Life Unicorn”

Clover and her son Cooper were rescued from slaughter by Rosemary Farm founder Dawn Robyn in 2012, when she outbid the kill buyers for the pair and brought them home to The Sanctuary. That was years ago now, and Clover showed some impressive 'skills' that did not lend herself to adoption! Whatever her past was, what she needed was to remain safely in sanctuary. She also has a twist to her right front leg, which would make her unsound for riding without pain, and may be related to her attitude and problem trusting humans. After a decade here, she is at peace now as part of the herd. One of the top sentries in the main band, she is often the dark bay shadow near Molly.

In 2018, one morning during chores, Clover was spotted with a horn coming out of her head! OR what appeared a horn; it was actually a very long piece of wood! She had turned sharply, hit the corner of a rail, and in a freak accident, split off a foot long splinter, driving it straight into her skull. Driven directly to the equine hospital, she was carefully x-rayed to determine if the impaled object had done any damage, but by some miracle, it had not. It took some force to remove it, but the procedure was expertly done, and Clover healed with no further complication.

Clover has used her magical powers to declare her intent to live out her life on the mountain of Rosemary Farm.  You can be a part of the magic – Sponsor or Staydopt Clover today!

Clover is:

• a dark bay Morgan cross mare
• welcomed to the Sanctuary in March 2012, a member of the 10 Year Club
• a sentry in Molly & Finn’s Herd
• mother of Cooper
• a permanent resident, seeking Sponsorship or Staydoption™
• fun fact; if you look closely, you can see the white hairs that have grown on Clover’s face, around the spot where her imaginary horn still lives.
