PATRICK
“McDreamy”
This deep black registered American Saddlbred was a senior in need of a soft landing following the passing of his longtime owner. Weak and worn out after a lifetime of pulling a buggy, he needed to be welcomed somewhere where requirements, in order to stay, were finally a thing of the past. Proud and beautiful, with a wavy mane, docked tail, and oversized star on his forehead, he is still cautious at his new home. He is not yet moving steadily, and his physical issues are still being revealed, with multiple vet visits already. Missing his front teeth from cribbing (a stress habit often found in horses that are confined too much), he has multiple areas of concern, but there is time now, to get to know him, and help him heal. He is currently being treated for ulcers and for thrush, a very debilitating foot condition, and both of those ailments are painful, and would affect anyone’s mood. His true personality will have a chance to emerge as he is healed.
Patrick was introduced to Ephy and the pair, who have a lot in common, have hit it off. Together they are currently enjoying the calm energy of Trooper’s Glen, and getting daily meals, supplements, and care to recover. Ephy and Patrick may remind donors of another senior twosome, Isabel and Cole, a wonderful pair to echo, as the cycle of rescuing continues.
Patrick is retired from further ‘work’ and will get to enjoy being a horse. Whether he is suited for adoption as a companion horse is still to be determined, but stay tuned for updates!
Time is a great healer. For Patrick and his various health concerns, you can sponsor Patrick today to provide him with a better tomorrow!
