DELTA
“Shining Like a National Guitar”
The difference between an intended crime or an accidental one is simply verbiage for the one who suffers the consequences. Many of our rescued horses have issues, be it physical or mental and whether someone intended the result, our work in Sanctuary must begin at the same place. The young mare Delta, welcomed earlier this year is just three years old and it has been a rough short life. Untouchable, terrified, wounded and disfigured, time will tell if we can get her fully back.
At the Sanctuary, she has time.
Delta had her wounds healed and over months of patient work, she can be haltered, petted, vaccinated and blanketed, which is good because winter is here. Having lost her ear tips to frostbite, we want her to never feel cold again.
A beautiful pinto mare with a strawberry red mane and tail, she spends her days with her friends Nova and Sirius, enjoying food and learning to run and play, something new to her! Her mind is finding happiness, too, and our great hope is that she become a whole being again, and able to enjoy life, build trust, and have a family.
There aren't many places that will accept the long term challenge of a mare like this one, and Rosemary Farm is unique in that aspect. Delta's future will be determined by HER, by her needs and desires as she learns to connect in a healthy and enjoyable manner with humans.
This is life saving, and has value. Just ask Delta. And if her story moves you, join us by sponsoring Delta with a monthly contribution.
