AUDREY

“Brave Half-Pint”

A group of camp ponies were welcomed to The Sanctuary, each "done" in one way or another with that experience. Audrey was the smallest and most determined to have some say in her future. Once she could be convinced that her new home was safe and there was no riding involved, she began to trust. All were given new, more glamorous names, in better keeping with their inherent, hidden beauty. Garbo, Audrey's mom, and Olivia, Audrey’s Grand-mom, arrived with her, but the trio could not get along, after competing for food for too many years. It was a first to have three generations of horses arrive at The Sanctuary, also to have family members in conflict, so in order to keep the peace, the three mares were given different friends.

Audrey, being the youngest, was the healthiest of the three, so she moved, and attached herself to the April Fools' Five. When Lizette was separated from that group for her health, Audrey decided that Lizette was the horse she most needed to follow, until Lizette’s condition became too much and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2021. Today Audrey spends most of her time with her special beau, the handsome Mustangs Moonshadow, and with the other wee pony, Wilbur.

If this little beauty’s story has touched your heart, she would welcome your support via a Monthly Sponsorship!
