WHISPER
“Still Waters Run Deep”
This quiet boy with the huge eyes was born wild. Like many American Mustangs, he was rounded up by the BLM*, branded, and adopted out, so he could no longer return to the place he called home. He moved to the East, and was used as a breeding stud for a short time, then was gelded. Also like many Mustangs, Whisper holds a deep fear of humans, so was not 'training well', and passed through several owners before being welcomed to Rosemary Farm.
Whisper has a gentle soul and is very happy here, able to be a horse as part of our largest band. Early on, Whisper was briefly the herd leader, and as part of that job, he trained the young Finn, who assumed the leadership role a year later. Whisper remains Finn’s second and a teacher of many new horses. He is safe and loved here at Rosemary Farm, and if you are quiet and gentle, he may come up and say hello.
A lot can be learned from a quiet leader – Sponsor Whisper today and enjoy his masterclass on herd dynamics!
Whisper is :
• a grey branded American Mustang gelding
• welcomed to The Sanctuary in 2009, a member of the 10 Year Club
• Finn’s second in command, in Molly & Finn’s Herd
• a permanent herd member, seeking Sponsorship
• fun fact; like many Mustangs, has a sweet tooth, and will abandon caution to obtain a treat
*BLM, the Bureau of Land Management, is the federal organization that oversees the wild Mustangs that belong to all US citizens. Deemed a national treasure in 1971, Mustangs have found themselves being dangerously depleted as they are rounded up off federal lands, and moved to large holding facilities, with a dubious future, all at the hands of the very organization charged with overseeing them.
