MARSHALL

“The Late Bloomer”

Another handsome Thoroughbred started too early, Marshall was really emotionally affected by his rushed path, and never evolved into a successful track horse. Racing 16 times in two years but never earning any money, he found himself at a rescue by the time he was 5 years old. They sought a solution to the horses' extreme anxiety, and located a gentle trainer who volunteered time to help. Marshall was successfully re-started as a riding horse and placed for adoption, but it was a failure within a year (and it is Never The Horse’s Fault). Homeless again, Rosemary Farm was asked to welcome him, and said yes.

The jittery gelding who arrived at The Sanctuary displayed some concerning signs of possible neurologic issues, and it was decided to remove him from the riding list. Marshall was given time and a herd and began his real journey, finally, of learning to be a horse. This took time, but as he progressed, Marshall became the leader of a group now known as “Baywatch", primarily Thoroughbreds and other athletes with a similar history. Now approaching 20 years old, he has grown wise, trusting of his people, and very, very loving to his herd. Like the other herd leaders at Rosemary Farm, Marshall is counted upon to help hold things together, and show new arrivals that humans are not so bad. Everyone is very proud of the beautiful and kind leader Marshall has become.

Sponsor Marshall today and know that you are also supporting his leadership of the Baywatch herd!
