JOSEPHINE
“Nickname”
Josephine is a senior Belgian mare, with a wide blaze and a roman nose, tall and beautiful. She is reported to have been a plow horse, part of a team with Archie. She is functionally blind, and it’s unclear what happened, but the team was sold, and ended up in the hands of a hoarder, who left them alone in a field. They were found months later, starving and scared, and with the help of the NYPD, were escorted off the property and into the care of Rosemary Farm Sanctuary.
Both of these horses are gentle, in their early 20’s, and very, very hungry. Together they have been settled into a safe private paddock and are getting the TLC they need to recover. Josephine is the braver of the pair, and leads Archie around their new home. Fitted for blankets now and gaining weight, they need dedicated monthly supporters! Both of these horses is eating TWICE what a regular horse eats, in addition to grain and special care.
