Catskill Natural Horse trainer Daniel McCarthy has been influential in the growth and gentling processes at Rosemary Farm Sanctuary since its inception. Dan began working with horses as a teen, then took a long detour as a professional musician before returning to his first love. He relocated to the western Catskill Mountains and began his particular version of release-based natural horsemanship. Dan believes in making the right answer obvious, setting the horse up for success and working within their timeline and ability. While Dan has multiple clients, including many adopted from the Sanctuary, he spends significant time every week helping the special needs of the Rosemary Farm equines and is an invaluable member of the team.
