Rosemary Farm is a drive from everything. Land is plentiful, hay cheap, traffic light. That said, it’s a hike to get here and once you do arrive, you will want to stay! So why not plan it! There are loads of B&B’s in the area, as well as Motels, Hotels, and our very own Guest House! Just depends on what you prefer. Scroll below for more info!
Now open, The Guest House at Rosemary Farm Sanctuary!
IF you have been reading about our house Percheron Annie, and seeing photos of horses just outside our door, hearing the soft nickers at night, now you may share in our adventure! We are proud to offer bookings in the new Guest House, located at the sanctuary, beside several of our grazing fields, with simply breath-taking views of the horses and hills. The house is available for rent on a nightly or weekly basis. It is a three bedroom, one bath ranch house, with a large enclosed front porch overlooking our fields, a full kitchen, dining area, and open central living area, beautifully designed. The house is decorated with original art, featuring horses and farm life, and all the art is for sale, so take the provided list and walk around your own private gallery. Windows in every direction are perfect for breathing in the country air and experiencing what it’s like to be at the sanctuary. Fully, newly renovated, this is a perfect country escape. We have a turntable and some vinyl, but no TV, no cable, and no wifi. Cell service is spotty and might require a drive back down the hill. Think connection-free retreat! Write that story, paint that picture, read that novel! Come to relax and listen to the horses. Breathe. Make your morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the mountain, slowly burning off the morning mist. Make some fresh country eggs (we will supply up to a dozen when you check-in!) and sit on the porch and watch as the farm wakes up, then follow our Walking Discovery Map to one of our designated observation spots to watch our horses be horse from alongside a field. Bike down to the nearby antique store, passing dairy cows and farm life, take a drive to Roxbury or the nearby Hobart Book Village, and stroll the stacks of special finds…or head over to Margaretville and visit the Catskill Artisans Guild, or the farmer’s market for fresh ingredients for a home cooked dinner. Listen to the whinnies as horses head back out after an afternoon siesta, to begin romping in the twilight glow. This is our life here, and it can be yours, too.
The Guest House can be booked directly on AirBnB. We require a two night minimum stay but will consider single nights if available last minute (send us an email 1-2 days before). Rental for the house is $190 a night plus a one-time $50 cleaning fee. Maximum 5 people. Check in from 3pm-6pm, check out by 11am. No smoking and no pets.
For those guests who want to experience the Sanctuary itself, we offer several activities that allow you to connect more deeply with our horses and staff. From volunteering with barn chores or inside work to feeding Annie on the back porch while chatting with Dawn over a glass of wine, to observing a training session with one of the Rosemary Farm trainers or grooming a favorite horse. Additional charges apply. All activities must be pre-scheduled and are subject to availability and weather. See below to inquire after you’ve booked your Guest House reservation.
Whether you are here to see the Sanctuary or spending your time touring the Catskills region, we would love to help make your visit memorable. We look forward to seeing you!
