Navajo for “Little Bluebird”, she was with us just 36 hours.
Arriving on a trailer from Oklahoma, pulled to safety with seven other foals from a load of horses heading to slaughter in Mexico, she was so sick that she could not survive. Of that 7 only 3 live, or should we say, three live! The rest of their family gone, perhaps it was Sialea-lea’s last gift to her sister, to help her cross the country and arrive here. She is buried at Rosemary Farm, near where her sister Yanaha thrives. Such is the heartbreak and joy of rescue perpetually entangled.
Fly away little one, unforgotten.
