Hamlet arrived in the fall of 2010, a frightened 6 month old colt, with his buddy Sawyer. Turned out that Hamlet’s mother was shipping to auction that day, so we intervened, got her, and reunited them. Hamlet was a lucky colt, spending his early years here at the sanctuary, but he has been dogged with persistent health issues; finally in 2015 we discovered that he has critically low levels of certain vitamins, and it turns out his mother has some of that too. With extra care and TLC, Hamlet has grown into a gorgeous bright chestnut pony gelding, but will always be quieter then most, and probably need a bit of extra. It is possible that the right home will come along for him, someone who wants a cuddly gentle pony colt, but we adore him here and we are happy to enjoy him here at Rosemary Farm.
