Staying at the sanctuary!

Rosemary Farm is a drive from everything. Land is plentiful, hay cheap, traffic light. That said, it’s a hike to get here and once you do arrive, you will want to stay! So why not plan it! There are loads of B&B’s in the area, as well as Motels, Hotels, and our very own Guest House! Just depends on what you prefer. Scroll below for more info!

Now open, the Rosemary Farm Guest House!

IF you have been reading about our horse Annie, and seeing photos of horses just outside our door, hearing the soft nickers at night, now you may share in our adventure! We are proud to offer bookings in the new RF Guest House, located at the sanctuary, beside several of our grazing fields, with simply breath-taking views of the horses. This house is available for rent on a nightly or weekly basis. It is a three bedroom, 1 bath ranch house, with an extra large enclosed front porch overlooking our fields, a full kitchen (all utensils and basics in place), condiments in the fridge, krups coffee maker, beautiful dining area, and central, open living area, beautifully designed. The house is decorated with original art, featuring horses and farm life, and all the art is for sale, so take the provided list and walk around your own private gallery. Windows in every direction create an open feel, perfect for breathing in the country air and experiencing what it’s like to be at the sanctuary. Fully, newly renovated, this is a perfect country escape. There is no TV, no cable, no wifi. Cell service is spotty. No smoking. Think retreat! Write that story, paint that picture, read that novel! Come to relax and listen to the horses. Breathe. Make your morning coffee and watch the sunrise over the mountain, and slowly burn off the morning mist. Make some fresh country eggs (we can have them waiting!) then pull on your boots and walk over to help with morning chores….or sit instead on the porch and watch as the farm wakes up. Bike down to the nearby antique store, passing dairy cows and farm life, or schedule a private session with one of the Rosemary Farm trainers and favorite horse, for a one-on-one bonding time. Lunch at the picnic table in your back yard, and walk to the fence just near and feed apples to the RF horses watching you. In the afternoon, take a drive to the nearby Hobart Book Village, and stroll the stacks of special finds…or head over to Margaretville and visit the Catskill Artisans Guild, or the farmer’s market for fresh ingredients for a home dinner, while you enjoy a bonfire out back. Listen to the whinnies as horses head back out after an afternoon siesta, to begin romping in the twilight glow. This is our life here, and it can be yours, too.

Booking the RF Guest House is easy; drop an email to Amy at with one or two possible dates, and she will get back to you as to availability. No smoking. We prefer two night minimum stays but are happy to consider single nights. Rental for the house is $190 a night, with a maximum 5 people (check in 3pm earliest, check out by 11am the following day). If you book 4 nights, you may stay for the 5th and 6th nights free! Pets upon approval (many of us have well behaved dogs, we understand!). Dog fencing to be built in the near future! Tell Amy what you would like to do during your stay and how we can make your visit memorable.

(ps if you bring wine or something yummy, it’s fairly easy to bribe us for more stories on your porch)
