It’s true; Jed has the hugest head that any of us have ever seen.

Not much that Jed loves more then a good scratch! He arches his neck and his lip quivers and he sighs with delight….it’s quite infectious!

Jed and Robert spent some quality time together today, after the storms broke and the skies cleared. I wonder if Jed thinks it strange that R. had his face on his shirt? (it’s on his hat, too, LOL)…

Late night at the barn, after Violet led several mares on a romp outside the fence. Jed watched amused from his private turnout, and greeted me with enthusiasm when I finally came into the barn with his evening bale of hay. Look at that smily face and the wind blowing his mane!

I have to say, Jed is getting restless. He is walking thru stall doors. He is giving ears to the other boys. He is sighing. He is also moving pretty darn well, considering. Jed hates the mud and the rain but also hates staying in on rainy days. He knows he’s lucky, but he’s a boy who wants to go out and play. His feet are healing, his time will come….

It’s Easter, which for Jed means a spring day, a little sunshine, a nice pile o’ food, and a little love. Jed’s a smart boy and is kinda figuring out he’s got a good thing. Not so different then what any of us want, right?

A rainy April afternoon, and Jed enjoyed time just inside, with a big ole pile o’ hay and a window to the world. The open door to the paddock was just there, but why go out into the mud? Much better inside, watching the beautiful mountain fields turn green. Life is good, Jed, isn’t it?

Today is week 7 for Jed at RF and his fourth trim. Went, uh, pretty well! He still has limited ability to pick up his front feet, so creative measures are employed. Geri is super patient and very confident about his recovery even tho’ we all know it will take awhile. Here she is with his left foot up; this is the one that we thought was the worst because he favors it, but for some reason he will stand on it more readily then he will pick it up. Patience patience patience and lots of trims! We will get there!

Jed is becoming quite the star these days, and graciously posed today with some impromptu visitors. He is so photogenic and so happy to meet everyone! What a far cry from his former life. The colts were adorable, and Violet was impressive, and the farm as breathtaking as ever, but it’s Jed that shines brightest.
So when are YOU coming to meet us all?
